Erzurum Technical University attended the Information Systems and Technologies Fair held in the Kuşadası district of Aydın, where the university examined current developments in digital transformation and information technologies on site and engaged in various professional meetings.
Hosted by İzmir Katip Çelebi University and supported by the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Türkiye and the Presidency of Strategy and Budget, the fair was held on May 13–14. Representing ETÜ at the event were Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Fatih Yetim, Head of the Information Technologies Department Dr. Naci Bayrak, and Head of the Student Affairs Department Hasan Bostancı.
Organized under the theme “Meeting of Decision Makers,” the fair introduced participants to technological solutions developed in various fields, including cloud computing, the open-source software ecosystem, domestic and national information technologies, and digital education platforms. During the event, the ETÜ delegation attended panels and workshops and received information about the latest developments in the information technology sector.
Throughout the fair, the ETÜ delegation also met with sector representatives during bilateral business meetings and discussed potential collaborations aimed at improving the university’s digital infrastructure. In these meetings, particular attention was given to next-generation technologies that could be utilized in student information automation systems and information security.
Following the fair, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Fatih Yetim stated that information technologies have become an inseparable part of educational and administrative processes in higher education institutions and emphasized that such organizations contribute significantly to universities’ digitalization efforts.
Yetim also noted that examining the domestic and national solutions presented at the fair is important for the university’s digital transformation vision and stated that ETÜ continues its efforts to provide students and academic staff with more advanced technological opportunities.
