Erzurum Technical University (ETU) athletes achieved a historic success at the Alpine Skiing Türkiye Championship organised by the Türkiye University Sports Federation. Competing at the championship held at the Palandöken Ski Centre on 14–15 February 2026, ETU won the first-place trophies in both the men's and women's categories, becoming the Türkiye Champion in the Inter-University Alpine Skiing discipline.

Following the individual and team competitions, ETU athletes won a total of 6 gold and 3 silver medals, completing the event at the top with two separate team first places in the men's and women's categories. In the individual category of the championship, Sıla Kara and Can Göydaş stood out with their gold medals, while Mahmut Kazanç also made a significant contribution to the team's success with his rankings. In the combined team rankings, Atatürk University and Koç University followed ETU in the men's category, while Özyeğin University and Erciyes University took their places on the podium in the women's category.

Following the competitions, team manager Buket Aktaş emphasised that the success achieved was the result of a strong team spirit and congratulated the athletes. Expressing her gratitude to the faculty administration, academics, the Directorate of Health, Culture and Sports, and the university's senior management for their support throughout the process, Aktaş stated that ETU would continue its steady rise in inter-university sports organisations.
