Erzurum Technical University (ETU) achieved a significant success at the PalanExtreme 2026 event, organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Interior and coordinated by the Erzurum Governorship, securing second place in the overall standings in Turkey.

In the event, which was held in collaboration with Ataturk University, Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality, and Erzurum Adventure Off-Road Nature Sports Club, university students competed in numerous stages including mountain biking, off-road running, canoeing, rock climbing, orienteering, search and rescue, and wilderness survival.

ETU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Naim Urkmez attended the award ceremony of the event, which combined Erzurum's natural beauty with sports, adventure, and team spirit. Urkmez, who presented the awards to the winning athletes and teams, emphasized the importance of organizations aimed at the development of nature sports, stating that guiding young people towards these fields makes valuable contributions to both individual development and the spread of sports culture.

ETU, which achieved second place in Turkey in the overall standings with its successful performance in different disciplines of nature sports, attracted attention with its success in the organization.

The university administration congratulated the athletes, coaches, and all stakeholders who contributed to the organization, and expressed its hope that this success will be crowned with even greater achievements in the coming years.
