Erzurum Technical University (ETU) held its 2025-2026 Academic Robes and Awards
Ceremony. During the programme, where faculty members who received the title of
professor donned their robes, the recipients of the Atıf, Publication, Science, Project,
Achievement, Publication in the Journal with the Highest Impact Factor, Educator of the
Year, Young Researcher, Club Academic Advisory, Postgraduate Thesis, and Rector Special
Awards were announced.
The programme held at the Prof. Dr. Muammer Yaylalı Conference Hall, was attended by
ETU Rector Prof. Dr. Bulent Çakmak, along with Vice-Rectors Prof. Dr. Ali Fatih Yetim, Prof.
Dr. Ceren Sultan Elmalı, Prof. Dr. Naim Ürkmez, Secretary General Prof. Dr. Ahmet Dumlu,
academic and administrative staff, and numerous guests.
Speaking at the ceremony, Rector Çakmak emphasised that universities are institutions
where knowledge is produced, thought is liberated, and the future of society is built: "The
world of science is changing rapidly. Technology is transforming, educational models are
evolving, expectations are rising. However, the only thing that remains unchanged is the
importance of quality, ethical values, and a human-centred approach. As representatives of
a long-standing academic tradition, we must both keep pace with the demands of the age
and never compromise on universal academic principles. Our greatest assurance for the
future is the human resources present in this hall. Thanks to your energy, productivity and
commitment to the institution, our university will become stronger, more visible and more
effective. The awards you receive today are not an end result; they are, God willing, the
beginning of even greater successes. I congratulate you all from the bottom of my heart. I
thank each and every one of you for your outstanding efforts, dedication and achievements.
I wish you continued success and sincerely believe that together we will achieve many more
scientific breakthroughs, examples of excellence in education and institutional successes.
Following Rector Çakmak's speech, the event continued with a gowning-up ceremony and
concluded with the presentation of awards to the academics and staff who received them.
